I think some of you will appreciate the irony/humor in this.
I took my guitar in to have the action lowered, and new strings, etc.
I took off the set of .09's that were on it, and put on a heavier set (.13's).
Here's the fun part.
Now with the action lowered, and heavier strings, the strings are just as hard to push down as they were with the action high, but with light strings.
Sigh.. (lol).
All that cash, for no net change in the amount of work my fingers need to do. ;)
but it does sound a lot better. The heavier strings do make a difference there.
Okay, enough typing now... back to practicing.

It's like a whole new guitar. I can really feel those heavier strings. I had "light" strings on it before. These hurt! But they sound a LOT better (for those who don't remembe, the guitar is an acoustic).
The sound is better, but those new strings have a very different sound than my ole broke-in set. lol.
Anyway, now it's back to practicing.
I'm actually starting to get the best of both worlds.
I'm re-starting my eMedia Guitar Method, which concentrates on chords, and tab.
Plus, I'm helping my youngest daughter with her lessons. She's doing the one-note-at-a-time thing, so I'm doing some single string work, and reading music. What more can you ask for? :)
I think (hope) I'm getting back on track.
