Sorry, sir, there is a right answer. Your cords must remain hydrated, and
the best way to do that is with water, not beer and certainly not hard
liquor. That's if you're serious about singing; if you aren't, do what you
want.

Axl Rose, BTW, did go to a vocal coach. Whether or not he took her advice
is another thing.
