Ok, without a lot of research I can tell you this much.. So far,
they
work pretty well.
The wife is, uh, was about a pack a day smoker, she rolls her own so
it's a lot cheaper than it could otherwise be, but she spends a lot
of
time rolling every day. The other day she tried one of these e-cigs
with
no expectations, and no pressure. Holy crap, she is down to about two
cigarettes a day (from 20) and in between pulls on the e-cig nicotine
system. There is no smell at all and no fire so she can do it in the
car, or in the barn, etc... So far she has a real cig in the morning,
uses the e-cig all day, and one real cig before going to bed...
Bottom line is, I am not sure if she is trying to quit cigs all
together
or just cut back. But from talking to her, the e-cig completely
satisfies her desire to smoke any real cigs all day long. No
cravings,
doesn't miss the real things during the day, etc.. If she continues
this
way she will probably never smoke another cigarette again which will
be
cool with me;).
I should note that I don't know a lot about these things, and am not
endorsing the use of any nicotine product or vap product. I am only
reporting our own personal experience with them. Do your own
research,
these things are not yet regulated so buyer beware...

Good for her!!! I quit cold turkey over a year ago. She'll have that
extra loot now to spend on other things (like the horses :) ). It's a
tough slug quitting, but one thing is clear....you have to WANT to
quit. Tell her to stay the course, it's worth it!
You didnt mention anything about Clubs in your post. Canada outlawed
smoking in Clubs (Bars), Restaurants, The LEGION.... ANY Public place,
etc, etc, etc. You'd think if our stupid Government wanted us to quit
smoking, they would outright illegalize (is that a word? ) tobacco!!!
Of course, the Middle Easterners have found a loop-hole to smoke their
dam Hookas indoors, but that wont last long. Now, they take them to
the beach, and smoke them right in the open. Gotta be a law against
that.
Yes, "illegalize" is a word. It is spelled "O-U-T-L-A-W", as in
"you'd think they would simply outlaw tobacco."
No smoking in public places (indoors or city parks) in North
Carolina. Makes gigging far more pleasurable.

Ya but back then, Tobacco had no bullshit in it, like preservatives,
Benzene, etc.
I don't think those survive combustion anyway.

The real problem with those chemicals is that nobody knows (or cares) what
happens to them when burned. No testing is done because who gives a fook? If
you're smoking, you want to die. "intent" is the key word.
I *really* don't think death is the primary motivation for smokers, But hey, they're clearly inferior people, so who cares, right?
Some interesting pesticides and fungicides are used on tobacco. Some are
systemic, meaning they're absorbed into the plant, just as they are with
food crops.
Yep.
