Re: So nobody is building their own bass?

Why not?

Anyone mind if I post a binary (picture) just every now and then here?
All pics are small (under 300k).

I know this is NOT a binary newsgroup, butt... this is a rather low
traffic NG, and it WOULD be on topic, eh?

If ANY of you say "NO DICE", then I will refrain.

And no, I don't do Face Book, nor have the time to make a web-page.

However, once I get the project done, I will post a "video" of sorts, to
YouTube.

The reason to post links rather than attempt to post a binary (small
doesn't matter) is I won't see it. And unlike so many of the P-bass
with flats and tort guard playing clowns here I happen to have an
interest (as should they, but are too dumb to know it) in bass modding
and the ultimate mod which is a build.

Personally I've got several large slabs of black walnut in the
basement that I scored maybe 30 years ago when the city cut down a
black walnut tree in the back yard of the place I rented. "What are
you going to do with that wood?" I queried.
"Haul it to the dump!", was the answer. So I had them cut the big part
of the logs into about 3-4 foot chunks and then got my brother-in-law
to take his chainsaw and slice the logs into about 3" slabs in
exchange for some of the wood. Waxed the ends and there it sits.
There is some minor splitting on the ends but plenty useful wood for
many basses! Plan was to use it for a "Geezer project". Of course now
I'm a geezer and I still haven't done it.

Of course I've been slowly building up to a build project with SX mods
and now I've got two Wishbasses to turn into magnificent custom gems!
(which is much closer to an actual build).

So find a suitable reposatory for your photos and post the link. Not
everybody here thinks that anything that isn't a "P" or a "J" is an
instrument other than a bass guitar! And how could it have been
glorious if I can't see the pictures?
