Important fact to remember about ionizing radiation:
Q. What is the "safe" dose of radiation?
A. There is NO level of radiation officially considered "safe"!
There is arsenic in your drinking water, but in concentrations so low as to be considered safe. There is always a point where the threat becoming so vanishingly small that for all intents and purposes it is safe, or at least not worth worrying about. You've been exposed to radiation every day of your life, but that probably won't be what kills you.
Remember that the next time the dentist trys to run his X-ray machine
for no reason
Since it costs him money to operate why would he run it for no reason? Anyway, the new digital x-ray technology uses a lot less radiation. It your dentist is still using film, tell him to try the new century.
or the media talking head tells you how "safe" the
radiation leak is...
They seem to be leaving that up to scientists and govt. officials for the most part.
