What's an idiophone/ideophone ?

Idiophone - yes I know I spell it incorrectly myself half the time.

Aero ... chordo .... membrano
yeah, self evidently: air, cords, skins ...

But what material substance is idio ?

Usually solid and the instrument itself is the thing which
vibrates/causes the sound - rather than strings, a membrane, or
lips/reed in the case of wind instruments.

So, things like triangles, rattles, claves, vibrophone/xylophone, jaw
harps, musical saws and my current favourite friction idiophone, the
daxophone.

Most percussion instruments that aren't skin drums would be idiophones.
