First off where is JS?
When I post something I expect a negative remark from him.
I feel slighted if he doesn't reply.
I wanted to bring up 'volume' on an electric bass.
Most players set the volume control all the way up on a bass and
adjust the amp accordingly.
I set the volume on my bass near the middle and adjust the amp
I am a thumb player and I play hard.
At higher bass volumes I am not happy with my sound.
It either distorts or there is just no punch.
Amps sound best when pushed (but not to the point of distortion)
especially tube amps.
With the bass volume set lower I can play hard and get a good punchy
Plus it gives me some headroom when I need it.
How do you set your bass volume?

- Re: New amplifier...
... The more I play with this amp the happier I am. ... small and clean. ... electric bass at volume would start to make the speakers sound ...

... Would you think a Behringer A500 reference amp would have enough ... old) supposed to sound adequate as a small PA? ... let's talk about microphones and monitor ... I can hear the bass only half of the time... ...
- Re: Whoo Hoo / Aguilar combo review
... the sound is like being dead and gone to low enders heaven. ... IMHO the MarkBass primarily is very portable but the sound is - well I'm ... The amp is actually a AG500sc head housed in a 2 unit slot/dock in the top ... And Aguilar is the very first bass amp where I have not shut down the horn ...
