Yes Jim. They should create charts so that on the off chance YOU want to
come and play, so it will be easy for YOU.
I'll be sure to pass that along to all of the Broadway musicals as well...
PS: Please tell me the advanced video game programming group where I and my
so-so knowledge of TI BASIC can make lots of money designing first person
shooters for the PS3. Thanks.

So I get a call from a church worship leader today looking for someone
bassplay one song on Sunday - a jazz walking bass version of a hymn. Decent
bread for one song.
I can't do it as I already have a gig, so he asks me for names of other
Noplayers who could do it.
I ask what's involved. It's all written out, he says. No chord charts.
cantab.
I'm racking my brains trying to think of which bass players in this town
twoactually sight read that aren't already working. I give him the names of
guys I don't really know and send him off to find their phone numbers.
The SAD thing is, I couldn't hook up the 5 OTHER guys I DO know and owe
favors to - because they CAN'T read.
/The More You Know
All the more reason to create charts via software so you can use the
Generate Tab feature. Then you could probably find any of hundreds of
local bass players who will do the gig for free just for the chance to
be on stage.
