Truly a lot of people just don't get, for whatever reason, what their
used gear is worth - if they think they're going to buy and resell for a
profit on ebay, I think they're sorely deluded.
I went through sometime similar with a recent craigslist ad - for a
keyboard, but same basic idea. The person was asking $700 for a used
Yamaha P-85 keyboard, stand, and gig bag. I pointed out, complete with
a link, an online package of the same thing brand new (and actually
better because it had a better stand), for $670 and free shipping.
I then offered $500 but they were firm in their price - so I bought the
new package.
So the real question in my mind is whether people do things like this
because they're dumb, or because they're sharp and hoping to find a fool
as a buyer.
