I need to find out how to get these goofball
stickers off without messing up the finish
Try some soaking a little dishwasing soap on it (spread it on w/your
finger) or a little WD-40. Dont try Goof off, Oops, or other solvents
like min. spirits etc. Good luck on a great deal--Fred
Happily the stickers and the duct-tape residue came off with rubbing
alcohol, a washcloth and a plastic putty knife, plus some elbow grease of
course. The stickers must have been there for awhile (this is a '98) as the
paint under the stickers is a slightly lighter shade. I think there is
still something messed up in the wiring as there is a faint buzzing sound
that disappears if I touch the strings or bridge, a grounding issue I
suppose. All the more reason to replace the pots and redo the wiring which
I can do for under twenty bucks. A new set of strings and a set-up and this
baby is good to go.
