I use a cheap car stereo power amp with a battery powered mixer into a
closed 10" speaker cabinet. You might be able to use a DI box instead
of the mixer and use the speaker from your amp.

To power the whole thing I use one of those jumpstart things that has
a built-in lead-acid battery. The sound is ok for things like bluegrass
and it goes for several hours and it's a breeze to set up.
