OT Intraocular Implant

I just had an Intraocular Implant.
This is where they replace your eye lens.
Sounds scarey but it's not that big of a deal.
I asked to be put to sleep for the surgery but many people stay awake
for it.
If I were to do it again I would probably stay awake.
There is very little pain after surgery and I could resume my normal
live the next day.
This is Saturday and the surgery was done on Thursday.
Before the surgery all I could see from my left eye was a blur.
This actually started several years ago when I noticed that there
seemed to be halos around oncoming headlights when driving at night
and occasionally I would see a double line on the road where there was
only one line.
In about 5 years time the vision in my left eye became just a blur.
A bright room looked like it was filled with smoke.
It has been over a year since I have been able to drive safely at
night which is a hindrance when I have gigs to get to.
Not to mention any normal activities done at night.
I am a disabled veteran and I took advantage of being treated by a
Veterans Hospital.
There is some discomfort but nothing serious.
How well can I see now?
Not very well.
Things are still blurry in that eye but I can now walk through a room
with my good eye closed and not walk into furniture.
I can't see the printing on the computer screen yet.
Some people have immediate vision improvements that exceed 20/20
vision in time.
It was explained to me that since my vision has been quite bad in that
eye for over a year it will take a few weeks for my brain to re-adjust
to it.
This procedure is truly amazing.
It should take about 5 weeks to heal completely.
I am looking forward to getting back to normal life.
