No judge in their right mind would require you to use an already-failed
vendor to repair a failure. It's that simple.

I think the judge would only require a refund and damages. Brian would
know.

But I do have some personal experience in this regard. My brother has
owned a repair shop for 20 years. I helped him run it for a year when he
had some health issues.

All shops make mistakes. All. I can't recall him ever having a customer
insist on bringing it elsewhere to correct the mistake. Then again he
has an excellent reputation and provides exceptional customer service.
He has, however, had people bring their vehicles to him when other shops
screwed up.

I agree with everything you're saying, Jim. In this case, the error was
aggregious. It was a STUPID mistake.

There's a big difference between mechanics and tax preparers, though, so
I'm not sure why you guys are arguing about it. But who am I to talk?

LOL - Fair enough.

Yes, it is. You're rude in a passive/aggressive way. You know it, and
ramp
up once you get the response you enjoy. That way you can say "Show me
examples of my rude ways! Poor me!"

I gotta concur with this one, Gerry. Sometimes you remind me of Jackie
on That '70s Show. Like when she tells Mrs. Foreman that she's the
nicest old lady she knows.

Thanks! I appreciate the support! See, I ain't duh only one, Gerry!

I'd bet it has as well. Thank you for stating the obvious. By the way, I
just got off the phone with Paul.... and thanks for giving me a reason
to
give him a ring! Hadn't talked to him since shortly after I moved. He's
STILL running his business this way... but went to TaxAct instead.

There are plenty of commercial packages for tax preparation as well.
Even Intuit has a different product line for professional tax preparers:

Gerry's pointed that out a couple of times, Jim. He's been right about it,
it's just that he got all haughty and arrogant about the thought that
SOMEONE out there MIGHT do things differently than he THINKS they should.
(Please insert sarcastic phraseology as appropriate. LOL)

It's a character flaw I don't expect to go away. Too bad too... I'm such
a
nice, good looking, and most of all HUMBLE guy the rest of the time! ;-)

That's so very true. You're one of the best looking overweight computer
geeks I've ever seen! :-)

LOL - oh, you're tho thilly!
