Half of the band didn’t make rehearsal.
We had a new bass player joining us and he called and said he had a
flat tire.
Drummer came real late because he was out of town.
The girl and her mother showed up on time.
And the other guitar player was here,
This kid is adorable.
Really cute, about 5 feet tall and the figure of a 20 year old.
Definitely good stage presence.
She selected three songs that we knew and was  prepared.
Songs were Barbed wire and roses, Leave the pieces and Before he
cheats.
We played acoustic guitars and mom joined in singing harmony, with no
intention of being part of the band.
This girl is a fantastic singer and she knows what she is doing.
Not a pretty voice but a cute voice that can get bar room raspy when
she wants.
She knows tons of country songs both old and new.
We played about 20 songs and each one was better than the one before.
She is not shy but she stayed close to her mother which was expected.
I gave her 3 more songs to work on and they will be back next week.
I talked to them about playing in bars.
They have contacted several places and have a good size list of clubs
that will accept her in a band.
There is no telling where this will go but so far things are going
good.
After they left the drummers new wife dropped by.
She is in her 20’s and I have known her for a couple years.
She grabbed the mic and started singing and WOW!
I never knew she could sing.
I told her that if Sammi doesn’t work out I want her to sing with us.
She is all for it.
It’s just too bad that we didn’t have a full band.
We’ll see how things go next week.

I hope the gal turns out great and her mom proves not to be a
problem. If nothing else you will get valuable experience for the
future whatever happens. It is a mistake to forecast the future in a
case like this...nobody on this thread knows what is going to
happen.
