I guess the corollary to that is: "Poor people have been voting
Republican for 25 years and they are still "pre-rich" ".

Hmmm?

Well let's think about that. If poor people voted Republican it seems to me we'd have a different majority in congress and a different candidate in White House. After all, there are a LOT of poor people.

What's special is that if they make any more than that, they probably
vote
republican anyway.
: D

Which reminds me of a quote that goes "Poor people have been voting
democratic for 50 years and they are still poor. Hmmmm"

HI guys, most of you know I'm a crusty old codger and I thought you
might be interested in an opinion piece I just put on my blog about

Interesting read. One thing that's always bothered me is that the
current FICA tax is regressive; the percentage of income paid decreases
as income rises above the so-called FICA limit. Personally, although
I'm generally an Obama supporter, I don't like the "donut hole"
approach; what's so special about people making between $102 K and $250
K? (BTW I'm in that donut hole so adopting what I'm proposing doesn't
personally benefit me.)

So I'd favor a straight percentage across the board. As you say in
your
article, that fixes the "problem"

.
