Nah -- you reacted in a reasonable, sensible way given the choices
that you had. A gun would have been more likely to make the
situation worse for you than better especially given that you had no
clue at this time as to what was really going on.

You come outta there with a gun in hand and some other person
involved in the melee has no idea who you are or what your aims are
or what side you're on: you're most likely history.




Of course, that would all depend on factors we can't predict, and
about which we can't come to any conclusions whatsoever.

That is of course true....which would make the use of the gun a giant
gamble.
