My band's thinking of adding 38 Special's "Hang On Loosely". I hate the
song, but maybe I can distract them with something else. Need to throw
more suggestions in the pot so they say "Oh yeah - that's a better one."
Target audience: Guys wearing Caterpillar hats backwards, wallets
chained to belts. 1:30 AM. People in parking lot vomiting on police car
hood, insisting that they're not drunk and they left home wearing just
one shoe. That kind of place.
I suggested Mississippi Queen (not really an anthem, but if you're gonna
do power chords, why not pick a bulldozer of a song?
All suggestions welcome. We have a keyboard player & guitarist who think
"Sweet Baby James" should have a wall of sound.
----Last song, last set? Ours is "War Pigs", but "Freebird" will have your
crowd rockin'. I know, I know, it's a cliche and a joke, but I've seen a
cover band that brings down the house with it....
Our guitarist is usually three sheets to the wind by the end of the 3rd set.
"Freebird" might be tricky. :-)
