tough gig tonight

It shouldn't be tough, but I find myself more wound up than in many years. The problems are, 1 I'm not playing bass - I'm playing keyboards and all vocals. 2. It's a big dinner dance show with a $30 cover charge. 3. I got back from ten days vacation Thursday pm and couldn't hold a real rehearsal Friday because the drummer injured his foot. I gotta go back to standing in the back and thumping, it's a hell of a lot more relaxing. ;-) Oh, problem #4, my nose is running like a river and my throat hurts. I find myself contemplating whether a nice Cognac would help. We had that discussion not long ago on here and my position hasn't changed. For the last 4 decades I haven't drunk when I was working but I can see how it could be tempting. Anyway, just venting a bit, thanks for your indulgence.
