Ummmm, I thought he got quite a bit of recognition while he was still alive,
being voted Bassist of the Millenium in a guitar magazine's readers poll in
2000 would seem to indicate he was widely appreciated.

And the TKAA film you're referring to was actually shot at Shepperton, not
Kilburn.
