bass practice really sucks

I must admit that I never practice. I just accepted a gig to play with a
band I kinda like for one show this Saturday. I did it because they're
going to let me sing a few songs. Now I have to learn about 30 songs I
don't know in the next few days. It sounded easy enough, but now I'm
finding playing bass by yourself is REALLY boring. This is particularly
simple stuff, country and rockabilly, and when you're playing by yourself it
all sounds the same. Boot Scootin Boogie is exactly the same as something
else on their playlist but I can't remember what. Five O'Clock somewhere
doesn't really seem to have a bass line. Oh well, I'm just ranting a bit.
At least here you guys know what I'm talking about. Oh Yes, I have a
bluegrass gig tomorrow night so that just leaves Thursday and Friday to
learn the other 20 songs. Oh Goody.
