I realize you are joking, but that is what the entire joke of the
music industry is based upon. People will buy a "Jaco" model Bass to
sound like Jaco and people are always looking for a "Tony Williams"
ride cymbal. Jaco sounds like Jaco on any bass. Check out that
instructional video Jaco did with Jerry Jemmot. Jaco plays Jerry's
fretless and sounds just he always does. Even if they could copy
Jaco's bass and Tony Williams' cymbal down to the molecular level,
they would never sound like what people want. It is the player that
makes the axe, not the opposite. Touch and feel are 99% of the
battle.

Did you notice how absolutely and freakishly literal he seems to be? A
pretty standard symptom of Aspergers - super literal reading of
everything with a difficulty understanding things like sarcasm is a
classic Aspergers marker.
