SMPS's

I am really leaning towards one of these new light weight Class D amps
(especially today since I am in agony "after" having a deep tissue
massage-bad back doesn't begin to describe it). Anyway, I have done a little
reading but much of it is over my head. Can we expect these switch mode
power supplies to last many, many years like the old fashioned back
breakers?
I hate to fork out $750+ for an amp that will crap out right as the
warranty does.
