didn't mention this explicitly. If not, give him one now. A short one.

No. In the online ads I placed, I mentioned something that has happened a
few times in previous bands: A club owner calls and says "Next Thursday's
band just cancelled on me. Can you do the gig?" Thursday is five days away.
We've been presented with an opportunity to strengthen a business
relationship. Or, a band member is sick and we need to reschedule practice.
Five people are waiting for information. Unless I know you're on vacation or
dead, I can't be waiting 2-3 days for you to get around to picking up the
phone or sending an email.
Simple. I expect people to be considerate and use common sense.
