Does anyone know of an effects pedal that can make an electric bassI don't really have an answer for you, but I have the same problem. FWIW I
sound more like an upright acoustic?
I play in a Bluegrass/Folk (or "Folkgrass") group and I would like to
get that thuddy upright sound out of my electric (Fender Precision
Bass). I've been able to get a fairly decent "upright-ish" tone by
palm muting the strings and plucking with my thumb, but I'd rather
play with my fingers, if possible.
If there is a pedal out there made specifically for this sound or if
anyone has stumbled onto this sound by tweaking on another type of
pedal, please let me know.
Thanks,
Rootsy Collins
use a Fender Jazz with flatwounds (d'addario) into an Ampeg BA115 set on
Presence 1and I vary the mix between bridge and neck pickups hunting for
that sound. I've tried comps and have just bought a V-amp to experiment
with. I pick with the soft part of my fingers and find with a more or less
flat eq setting I get the best equivalent of what I want using just the
bridge pickup. Let me know how you fare with this project as I really don't
want to go the upright route.
