I am considering getting a (god forbid) 5 string bass. Does anybody

any recomendations?

Thanks.....and pray for me.

That's not the dark side, silly boy! That's merely a different shade
of light-side.. er... light!
What's yer budget?

No, he was right. It IS the dark side.

On the otehr hand, I think everyone should own one if they want to
play professionally. I would get the cheapest one I could possibly
stand to play, like maybe one of those Hohner B basses or an Ibanez
SR705.

It seems like my band is playing more and more songs in the key of Eb or D.
I try to detune the E string but it confuses my little pea brain. I have
played the drummers Fender MTD (?) 5 string and it was pretty good. The
problem I have found with some 5ers is that the B strings sound kind of
flabby.

I agree that every professional bass player should have a 5 string in
his/her arsenal, along with a fretless bass.
