I disagree with some of that. I think of supernatural as something that has not been proven - not something that cannot be proven.
If it is supernatural, it is beyond the natural world. How can you then prove it in the natural world? I'll be happy with an example of something you consider supernatural and how it could be proven and still be considered supernatural.
New science starts out unproven, does it not? Does that make it supernatural up until the point at which it is proven?
> " No psychic has
ever succeeded in demonstrating their powers in a properly designed scientific test." That seems like a difficult to prove assertion. Just how sure are you of your facts??
Yeh, I'm sure of my facts. Go to www.randi.org and read up on it yourself. They have had a $1,000,000 prize available for over a decade to anyone who can prove a supernatural power, psychics included. Every test has failed even though the person being tested is involved intimately in the design of the protocol and what constitutes "success".
The reality is that if there were a success, it would completely rock the scientific world. It would force so many sciences to be completely reconsidered. The military would be all over it.
As for my assertion being difficult to prove, it is impossible to prove. I cannot prove a negative. You, of course, could prove a positive assertion that a psychic has passed properly designed scientific test. Of course, you'll need to present the testing protocol. Many "properly designed" tests are from being properly designed.
I agree in principle, but did you ever wonder why a "genuine" psychic would expose himself to that kind of scrutiny or treatment?
Considering that most psychics are glory hounds, why not? If they were genuine, their income potential would be virtually unlimited. Corporations and the military would pay outrageous sums to figure out how it works.
From an altruistic standpoint think of all the good they could do in the world if they got rid of the fakes who do nothing but take money and give false hope in return.
There is no such thing as a genuine psychic.
