As another poster pointed out, you don't have to use finger picking to
play bass.
Why, I even saw a guy using a pick on FRETLESS once!!! Some people
just don't care, you know? He even sounded good, too! Oh well...
Agreed. I use a pick on certain songs. They give a certain attack that
sounds unique and sounds good sometimes. Some bass players always use a
pick. It's preference. Certain bass passages can be very difficult with
a pick though and much easier with finger technique. Do what works and
you'll be fine. As an earlier poster said, don't worry about it. Be
rounded, able to play a variety of techniques.
