Hmmm, I haven't bothered to decipher the Jim's tab (use Nashville Numbers fer chrissake Jim!) or to learn the tune but it's fairly well entrenched in my subconscious and I hear it in my minds eye as a distinct key change.
Why did this tab throw some people for a loop? I didn't write it out myself, I found it online. When I saw it it took me all of two seconds to understand it (of course, I had the song in my head). As you listen to the verse it's pretty obvious that the progression is three chords with each having three forms of the same chord. It repeats that with what sounds like a key change. That's what the tab showed.
