You just said you could listen to the same thing and have it sound different to you 100 times. What's the point in doing some sort of objective test with something other than ears if your ears won't reliably notice in the first place?

Nah - it's real useful if you're actually interested inwhat is more
transparent, as opposed to what you think sounds better.

Just so we can close out this now useless discussion, do you recommend this approach for all bass players or do you acknowledge that this is something particular to you and other engineers?
