I apologize for the errant reply. Maybe your Aunt Margaret would enjoy
the story about the dufus who had his mouse roll off the edge of the
special new pad my kids got for me (gotta use it...) and hit "reply"
somehow at the wrong moment.
What I wanted to share was the scene of my mom's brothers (my favorite
uncles, the younger one still at home with my grandparents when I was
a kid, and the other not long out of the Army and newly married), who
had gathered at her bedside for what turned out to be our last visit,
get the old family history stories going, and having my mom, drifting
in and out as she was dying of congestive heart failure, correct the
details. Large window fan going and blowing right on her so she could
breathe, at least someone had the details straight! I heard "Yeah,
that's right!" from them how many times? Phew! No wonder she was PO'd,
they didn't get much of anything right (runs in the family?)!
She was still eating a little here and there, and sitting up, awake
and alert, at least from time to time. Those who read here will
understand: "all part of the act". She got us out of the room, and
back to our homes across the USA, thinking we'd all be back together,
and then left at her convenience, a day or so later.
Maybe we get it all straightened out on the other side. Who knows
where this rocketship is going?
Thank you for bringing up the subject. --D-y
