Be a man, and post that your post, while technically accurate in

of you, had nothing (or, at best, very little) to do with the OP's
question. Do that, and my respect level will raise, just a little bit.
BUT... you won't.
Okay, I agree with that, and I'll go a step further. I wasn't thinking
about his equipment being meant for bass guitar, if I had, I'd have known
that the para-mid wouldn't go that high. The two pieces of equipment I
looked at were mixing boards, both designed for general use, and my
statement was accurate for that type of equipment. What I posted was
definitely not drivel, but it wasn't exactly on target either.
Not only was it not "exactly on target" it was potentially misleading.
If you'd just done a very quick google search, or been familiar with
modern FX units, you'd have known what Dave was asking about, and
wouldn't have had to go down this road.
I would love to hear where a modern manufacturer is calling semi-
parametric EQ's quasi-parametric. I haven't seen that phrase since I
regularly worked with gear bulit in the 70's... but I suppose it is
possible someone in the live sound arena is still using it.
I've seen it recently on a coupole of pieces of equipment, I don't
remember the brand names, but I'm pretty sure at least one was European.
I've done some very quick research... seems the phrase quasi-
parametric is being mostly used by car audio companies. Um... yeah....
I honestly don't mean to irritate, and I don't have this trouble in groups
other than this one and AMHS. I don't use my real name in those groups,
because I don't want what happens here happening there.
Frankly, I do believe that you don't mean to irritate. But... you do.
And it's mostly becaue you do what you continuously accuse other
people of doing: You don't read enough of the original post to answer
the actual question asked, Mike. If you just kept yourself to
answering the original question, you wouldn't come off so poorly, I
think.
I'd love to verify your posting record and reception in other groups,
Mike.
