I have been thinking however, that it would be nice to get small/

I've got two good sounding small amps combo amps - an acoustic image
contra combo and a Phil Jones briefcase.

The newer AI combos are lighter, and they all sound great, but on their
own they don't really sound 'rock' so they aren't everyone's cup of tea
(although you can rock out convincingly using a 2x10 extension cab).

The Phil Jones briefcase sounds like a scaled down 2x10 - it's not
particularly light for it's size partly because of the battery and
partly because of the whopping magnets on the tiny speakers. However,
Phil Jones Bass have just brought out some combos with neodynium magnets
and I think those would be really interesting to try out.

Also. When the briefcase came out there was nothing even remotely
similar on the market. MarkBass has subsequently brought out a very
similar looking combo with 2 6" speaker (the PJB has 2 5" speakers)
called the MiniMark - seeing as how everyone seems to rave about this
Markbass gear I suspect that would be well worth trying out. It's more
powerful than the briefcase and unless you absolutely need battery
powered portability it might be a better bet.
