A quick Google shows this phrase seems to be normal in the Indian
English, couldn't say whether that's also true of British English, but
we know for sure by the responses in this thread it's not true of
American English (where the item in question would be a sofa-bed).
Sorry if I sound like a cranky old man - OK, not really all that sorry.
