howdy,
just after some opinions on valves/tubes for my (other) Ampeg SVT-II. I can
easily get hold of Sovtek, Electro Harmonix & Svetlana from a supplier i use
all the time for other stuff (semi's, passive components etc..), or can get
JJ's & Tung-Sols via ebay. Should i go for the Svetlana KT88SV's (the
description sounds good ;), or just stick with the old sovtek 6550's, or
hell, what do you guys reckon? The valves that came out of it were chinese
no-name jobs that went pretty much straight in the bin before i repaired the
fire damage on the output board...
cheers,

Different power tubes have vast differences in sound and longevity.
I would do some research and find what tubes are best for you and that
amp.
I use Mullard EL-34's in my Marshall and I love them.
