Re: legato playing and bass solos

OK, Pete, joke's over, ha ha...

Now you have a teacher??
Quote.....

"lessons"?
you're living in the past. the advice i'm getting from others on the
net, plus the info from bass websites and downloadable instruction
videos is exactly the same thing as having lessons from some teacher.
i know music theory and other instruments already. you're either being
mean or just assuming things without thinking.<

yes i do have a teacher, but he's on the internet so it's not "face to
face".
i downloaded some of his lessons and we had a very brief email
exchange.

i've had both real life lessons and internet ones. internet lessons
are cool because you can absorb them in your own time and rewind the
interesting parts to play them 15 times in a row without making the
teacher impatient.
my face-to-face teachers have not been into the same music as me, so
that's another issue.

As regards legato playing...ever heard of Jaco Pastorius?

yeah thanks for the tip. i have a vague memory of him possibly playing
fretless, but i'm gonna check him out.
