I owned a blonde one for a few years. Played it several nights a week (back when those bases were new). I used black LaBella tape wounds on it. I think there might have been some kind varitone switch on it. There was one position I liked. The bridge was fairly massive, and the bass had good sustain and good frequency response acoustically as well as electronically. I liked the shape and feel of the neck - it wasn't log-like. It served me well until I finally acquired something that would get a Stanley Clarke type of sound.

As I recall, the Grabber basses were dull and thuddy by comparison.
