Don't give up, Clive. Consider it a brief sabbatical.

There's a great young guitarist here that everyone calls Overhand Sam.
While skateboarding, he broke several bones in his wrist & hand. When the
doctor applied the cast, he said "Obviously, you'll be careful with this.
We'll remove the cast in 6 weeks and have a look." The doctor didn't know
teenagers. Sam started skateboarding again two weeks later, fell, and
smashed the cast, whose hard, broken edge helped to break MORE bones.

Cut to 6 months later: He can no longer bend his fretting hand under the
neck. So, he learned to play by hanging it over the top, hence the
"overhand" moniker. He's quite good, too.

Damn.
No skateboarding either?
