Our local Wally World insists on seeing ID whenever I buy beer there.
Today, I am 65 years old, and look it. I don't need to show ID to prove
I'm old enough for anything. I quit buying beer or anything else from
anyone who won't use common sense instead of a silly, inconvenient
catch-all.

I worked in a Deli in High School, and our policy was to ID everyone - kept
the employees from having to make a judgment call that could get the store
into a LOT of trouble.

Yes, it's dumbing down to the lowest common denominator, but the fines our
boss told us about made it make sense (no idea if that was BS or not, but we
listened to him). Plus, it made ALL the women in their early 30's VERY
happy.

The only person who gave us any hassle over it (after it was explained, at
least) was a cop, who proceeded to write 3 parking violations on his way out
to his car.
