Just picked up a Squier VM Fretless - woo hoo!

backstory...i kept seeing this ad repeating on cragslist here for a
bass and an amp. The bass was the new Squier Vintage Modified
Fretless (Jaco bass look-a-like) and the amp was a little Peavey Max
practice amp and the price was really low. The second time I saw the
ad I was suprised that he still had it, the third time I was shocked.
The fourth time I saw the ad I emailed him t confirm that he still had
it, he did. I picked it up today. Both the bass and amp are pretty
much new (he said purchased in May for his son who showed no interest
and wanted to something else for his drums)
For the record...its this bass

The seller said he had a lot of calls on it but nobody ever came to
look at it. I simply cannot believe that anyone would have passed up
this bass. At the price the guy was asking I could sell it for a
profit, it was that low.
Anyway, the bass is great. Looks great, feels great, plays great and
sounds great. The only fretless basses that I have liked better were a
Pedulla and a LeCompte. The Pedulla Buzz basses just have that "sound"
and the LeCompte was soooo easy to play.
Fender could slap their name on this bass and charge $500 for it and
it would still be a good deal. It reminds me of when they released the
Squier Pro Tone series and then discontinued them because they were
too good to be Squiers....
