Cut some of us some slack. I was one of those "dipshits" yesterday at BWI. I wasn't looking around to see who was admiring me, I was looking around to get through the crowd of people who can't walk in a straight line, can't keep up a pace, and seem to stop and turn around in circles whenever they breath. I consider it part of my "uniform" when I'm working.
Well, Nick, nothing personal, but... They might be an absolute lifesaver for you, they might be the greatest productivity tool ever devised by mankind, they might be essential for some people to use. They have obvious convenience advantages, no one can deny that. But the cold, hard fact is, wearing one makes you look like a... okay, I won't say dip***. How about ultimate doofus? Maybe if they were designed to look like a professional tool, instead of an accessory to the latest X-Box game, it wouldn't have to be that way.
Brian, I'll make an assumption that as a lawyer, you wear a tie a lot. But if you're not with a client, or in front of a judge, do you yank it off, just to put it on again 5 minutes later? Probably not...
Tell you what, you can safely make an assumption that I look like an ultimate doofus all the time. It has nothing to do with what I'm wearing, it's just my natural look.
