Replace all the power tubes.
Replacing one is like replacing one spark plug in your car.
Don't use Groovetubes or other Chinese tubes.
Be sure to bias the amp.

i did replace all of the tubes, but i didn't order a 12ax7R.
the question was has any one used the specific tube that is available
from the site i cited.

I don't know what the R is for.
They say low gain but a 12AX7 is a 12AX7.
(Highest gain in preamp tubes).
Preamp tubes are not expensive and no bias adjustment is required when
changing them.
Read reviews on tubes and experiment.
After much research and trying several different preamp tubes in my
Marshall I settled for an NOS JAN 5751, NOS RCA 12AX7 gray plate and a
new Ei Elite (low noise) 12AX7.
My power tubes are NOS Mullard EL-34's with cool (within specs) bias.
Every amp is different sounding and we all have different taste in
sound.
Try some lower gain preamp tubes if you want a clean, punchy sound.

experimenting is not something i have time or interest to do.
i just want my gear to be reliable and in good working order.
i have a lot of gear to maintain so nickles and dimes add up.
that is why i consult the experts before making a purchase.

Lord Valve. He is THE man for tubes. He tests everything and even
gives them the 'hammer' test, a brutal assault on a tube while powered
up. If it survives that, it's a good tube. It isn't the only test, of
course. He is quite thorough.
