Yes. I think you have to look like the music you're playing. Imagine
going up onstage at 80 years old with a walker and a colostomy bag and
singing "Born To Be Wild." The people won't buy it. My main band is
middle aged guys in bowling shirts. It doesn't have to be a great
image, but I do think that you should all look like you're in the same
band.

Well, yeh, but colostomy bags fall under the 1% category. I don't think
"half the battle" is avoiding a guy draining his bowels on stage.

Have you ever failed an audition because of your image?

Among other things.

In what way? What were they looking for? How did they ultimately succed with
their vision?

Has your band ever not landed a gig because of not having the right image?

Absolutely.

In what way? What were they looking for? How did they succed with their
vision? Did you think your image didn't or couldn't be a good fit?

If everyone in the band dresses and acts like you onstage, it's an
image.

If anybody can see you, there's an image. I'm more interested in "the
character projected to the public, as by a person or institution, especially
as interpreted by the mass media" to quote the dictionary. Most bands I see
are just trying to look presentable and appropriate to their target
audience.

I'm honestly trying to learn more about this. It might be fund doing some
original band stuff, but right now my lack of knowledge about image is
standing in my way. I'd like to know a little more before I put myself out
there.
