Consider this, why do American cars sell so poorly in Japan and Europe?
Perhaps it's because American car manufacturers *don't* sell different
models in those markets.
I don't know about Japan, but American cars are very big sellers in Europe.
Ford, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover & Aston Martin are all big sellers in
Europe and they're all owned by Ford Motor Co. Likewise Saab, Vauxhall and
Opel are also big sellers in Europe and are own by GM. Seeing how both of
these companies have their global headquarters in Michigan in my book that
makes them all American cars. Sure most of these models are
built/assembled/made in Europe and cater to the European market, but a lot
of Japanese cars are built/assembled/made in the US and cater to the US
market. They're still Japanese cars.
