No, the thing that's gotten out of hand is the reaction of some old cranks to a perceived "war on Christmas" that doesn't exist. Are you really offended when someone wishes you a sincere "happy holidays"? If you are, then you'd better do some real soul-searching.
Bill O'Reilly and his "war on Christmas" seem to have the goal of turning every holiday season into a time of angry, bitter resentment. Looks like you're right in there with him.

I'm not bothered by people who say "Happy Holidays" at all. I realize that many people do not celebrate Christmas, and that there are other holidays besides Christmas this time of year, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc.
What does bother me is that I have to worry that people will be offended if I say "Merry Christmas!"
