The "sim" thing...don't remember the OFFICIAL word...
I think it's simile or some such. But basically it means to play
something similar to what you've been doing. In this case, the
arranger shows you a walking line for a few measures, then says "keep
walking like I showed you, but come up with your own notes."

Simile...that's spot on mate...
