Oh come one. You agree with me. But, you can't reveal this fact because it
conflicts with your inner circle thing.

And yet, I work like a mule. Go figure.
Much as you would like it to be, the music business is not an accounting
firm. Not yet, anyway.

A band is a business like any other. If the business depends on travelsome
and
keeping appointments, someone who is unreachable is useless.

You wouldn't want to hire me then. People in my "inner circle" know the
best
time to get ahould of me "live" is weekdays, somewhere between 10PM and
2AM.
But not during "The Simpsons" reruns...

My band needs to audition a new guitar player. Any tips?
Thanks!
I'm about to audition a whole band worth of new people. One important
for me is the ability of people to communicate, and to be reached in
halfway in a timely fashion. Too many dingbats choose their cell phonethat
service
as follows:
-Which company has the worst signal imaginable in my region? I'll take
one.
-Which free phone sounds most like a child's $4 walkie-talkie with a
mydead battery? That's the one for me.
Then:
-I'll answer or initiate calls only when in the windowless bathroom of
brick & steel office building. I'll sound like a frog in a washingmachine,
but that's cool.something
Or:
-Email - I check it once a week.
Or:
-Home phone: My toddlers answer it and take messages by scribbling
on the refrigerator.
How does one interrogate a new "hire" about these issues?
.
