Hey, John, give this website a try. http://users.aol.com/bluemuse/ampeg.html
They have schematics from a bunch of old bombos from the 70's and a parts
list decribing what each component is=part number. You never know what it
could lead too.

My beloved old Selmer/Ampeg B100 amp crapped out on me last month. Took ita
to a smaller chain music store in town that has a decent repair dept. Got
notice that they couldn't fix it because they couldn't match up the Ampegwe
model numbers with the generic transistor numbers (?).
Anyway, I go to pick it up today, and none of the regular guys were there.
The guy that gave me the amp (after much needless searching) was a classic
corporate-music-store-manager type. As I'm leaving, he says to me "Sorry
couldn't fix your amp. But hey, you should check out the Fender Bassmanamps
we have on sale today".the
Now, I don't know why this irks me so much, but it does. I guess it's like
saying "Sorry about your pre CBS P-Bass, but HEY, you should check out our
stock of Ibanez Gio basses". It's not the upselling that bothers me; it's
the utter cluelessness, I guess.
Which brings me to the question - anybody know what friggin input ouput
transistors go into a '70's Ampeg B100, Or can you atl least point me in
direction? Apparently the shop was dealing with Ampeg themselves, and
crapped out. I think there's a schematic inside the chassis, but I don't
remember if the part #s are on there, and frankly, I'd rather not take the
whole thing apart if I don't have to. TIA.
