The big downtown hotel in Grand Rapids, jazz trio gig I've had for 4 years.
$400 and a room, & great fun. We bring snacks and drink a bit of bubbly in
the room during breaks. I'll be playing upright, with a sax player, and
piano player. I kind of hate playing without drums, but we're in the lobby
bar, and it's kind of small. The place has 3-4 other bands in big
ballrooms, but we get the people that want to sit & relax a bit in between
parties. We've been there so long, that now a lot of my friends show up to
sit, sip, listen, and chat.
Have a Happy New Year everyone!
