Tube Microphonics????????

I just got an Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp. Which is basically the front end of the SVT III head. When I pluged it in, i head some rattling coming out my speakers. First I thought it was tools 'cause my setup is next to my work room. Then I reallized it not. It sound like either 2 wrenchs hitting each other when I play a note or a box of Xmas Bulbs hitting. When I tap on top of the preamp, the "Binging" noise is pretty loud. When I turn down my poweramp, you cant hear it.
Is this tube Microphonics. I bought it a Musicians Friend so I debating of returning it to them and get a new one and hope for the best or call Ampeg. I now Ampeg had some sort of recall or their preamps, so I'm still deciding what to do. BTW, it's a nice sounding preamp.
