Behringer BX1200 Amp Question - Reliable?

Needing an amp for my Ibanez bass I was directed to the BX1200.

the reviews at music123.com seem to be divided right down the middle.

either its the best ever for the price ($199) or it has a hum that you
can't get rid of and the speaker will blow within weeks.

I'm just a beginner who wants to make so mild noise in the garage, no
gigs, just play for myself.

can anyone comment on the lifespan of the BX1200? I can't tell from
what I've read if its worth the risk.

thx - Craig
